Greenwood Public Schools Mourns the Loss of Student Cadence Walters
Sister Chloe Walters in Serious Condition Following Car Accident
Greenwood, December 27, 2024 – Greenwood Public Schools is deeply saddened to announce the tragic passing of Greenwood High School student, Cadence Walters. Cadence died as a result of a car accident that took place on Thursday afternoon. Her sister, Chloe Walters, who was also involved in the accident, remains in serious condition and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
We are heartbroken by the loss of Cadence and the ongoing medical situation with Chloe. Both students are active and well loved throughout the school community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Walters family during this incredibly difficult time. As a school community, we stand together to support them in every way possible.

Clear Bag FAQ:
Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” or one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar). Individuals may also carry any small clutch purses meeting the following size requirements, no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”, with or without a handle or strap. All clear bags and clutch purses will be screened prior to entry into the venue. All bags and purses not meeting the above requirements will not be permitted. Individuals carrying required medical supplies or devices into the venue are not subject to the clear bag policy, but will need to go through the bag check line at their entry gate for a thorough screening of the bag and the medical items (Diaper bags/childcare items included). War Memorial Stadium may modify the Prohibited Items list in connection with specific events.

Kane Archer of Greenwood High School is the 2024-25 Gatorade Arkansas Football Player of the Year. Archer is the first Gatorade Arkansas Football Player of the Year to be chosen from Greenwood High School.
At the time of his selection, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound junior quarterback had passed for 3,559 yards and 54 touchdowns with just one interception, leading the Bulldogs to a 12-0 record and a berth in the 6A state championship game. As the 6A West Offensive Player of the Year, Archer completed a state record of 82.1 percent of his passes through 12 games. He had also rushed for 664 yards and six touchdowns.
