The Jr/Sr high chess teams competed in the GFESC chess tournament on Thursday, Nov. 30.
The Sr High team finished in a tie for 3rd place. Team members were Michael Turner (Gold Medal), Isaac Buzbee (Silver Medal), and Emma Powell.
The Jr. High team finished in 2nd place. Dexter Coston won a gold medal. Grady Garner, Westin King, Seth Fontenot, Trevor Willbanks, and Brickston Lamb won silver medals and Christopher English won a bronze medal. Other team members were Brenden Steinfeldt, Tungsten Oudomparamy, Westin Selkirk, Trepp Nation, Rustin Broussard, Dolan Mott, Noah Boylston, Reese Place, Joseph Myers, Luke Balasko, Sean Haddock, Alec Hayward, Tristan Ahne, Ethan Shumate, and Bryson Cook.



GREENWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING
There will be a Public Hearing for the Facilities Master Plan of Greenwood School District in conjunction with the regular school board meeting on December 14th, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Administration Building.

Great things happening at Greenwood Schools
The 5th and 6th grade chess teams attended the GFESC tournament on Wednesday, November 29.
Congratulations!
The 5th grade team finished in 2nd place.
Granger Lott, Grayson Sharum, and Barrett Wooten brought home silver medals and Jesiah Davis brought home a bronze medal. Other team members were Carson Walters, Midnight Rosen, Davis Geib, Brayden Harris, Charles Kimble, and Andrew Medina.
The 6th grade team finished in 1st place.
Caden McAdams won all of his games and brought home a gold medal. John Parker Beasley, Bryston Robinette, Micah Buckner, Tiagu Kannan, and Jaden Perry brought home silver medals and Callen Hayward brought home a bronze medal. Other team members were Brooks Wolfe, Hannah Teague, Aiden Lamb, Ryan Bain, Parker Spencer, Oliver Morgan, Taylor Bentley, and Sterling Adams.

Greenwood Senior John Wagner was named the top player in the social studies subject area out of the over 100 students who attended senior high quiz bowl camp and was awarded a $50 gift card.
