Third and fourth graders have been busy in lab the last few weeks! We’ve tied lots of real life application to their student of geometry in math class. Every student learned to design in a CAD program and has been 3D printing their unique keychains. We’ve been coding Spheros, driving our VEX bots (3rd grade), making symmetrical Flextangles (4th grade), and participating in a March Madness LEGO design challenge. All this learning has been so fun! #STEMed #TheWestwoodWay

Westwood's Family Fun Night Was a Success!! Thank you to everyone who came. Thank you to our PTO for another successful Book Fair and to Farmers Bank for providing and cooking our family meal.

Fantastic week at Westwood having Mr. Rob Thomas with Didgeridoo Down Under here for Family Night on Tuesday and throughout the week to share cool information and his great talent on the didgeridoo with our students and families!

Building background knowledge is important when trying to understand and visualize a story! Mrs. Bruce’s 4th grade readers are currently applying what they’ve learned in their nonfiction book “Earthquakes” to help them understand and visualize what they are reading in “I Survived the San Francisco Earthquake, 1906”.

For Read Across America Week, Mrs. Dunlap’s Kindergarten class got to enjoy Cpl. Fisher with the Arkansas State Police reading the book “Oh, the Things You can Think” by Dr. Seuss!
