East Pointe took second place in the third grade division and third place in the fourth grade division of the Waldron Chess Tournament. East Pointe was the only team to place in both divisions. Five East Pointe players medaled. Coy Aggus and Landon Shown took silver in the third grade division while Amelia Hearron took bronze. Andrew Pool and Jackson Efurd both earned bronze in the fourth grade division.
The East Pointe Chess Team took first place at the Guy Fenter Co-op 3rd and 4th Grade Tournament!
East Pointe had three individual medal winners: Jackson Efurd earned gold with a perfect 5-0 record, one of only two players to win all of their matches out of the 112 participants.
Canyon Chapman posted four wins and a stalemate and earned one of the two silver medals awarded.
Andrew Pool earned one of the 12 bronze medals awarded with four wins and one loss.

Third grade would like to extend a huge SHOUT OUT to Arkansas Secretary of State Education Division and great, big THANK YOU to Linley Hittenrauch for coming all the way to Greenwood to teach our kids about the election process & voting. She even had them vote on a school mayor for the day. The kids loved it and learned so much. Thank you Ms. Linley!
