Yesterday, first grade had a guest speaker from Luck E. Strike ahead of our Fishing Derby Family Night next week. Luck E. Strike is providing a super fun activity for our classes. Each student was given the opportunity to design a lure, then we voted on all the designs. The winner from each class will have their lure designed for the class! Our classroom winner was Reece Grouse! Thank you Luck E. Strike for this amazing, engaging experience!

Mrs. Scantling’s class had some awesome third grade representatives from Mrs. Kelton’s class come and teach us all about baby chicks and allow us to experience some of the chicks they hatched in their class!

Students are still learning and exploring along with Pumpkin Jack thanks to their experience earlier in the year with Allisyn Stratton from the Sebastian County 4H Organization! The class has been documenting Jack’s changes since October, and they have learned so much about the decomposition process and the pumpkin life cycle!

Just a reminder to wear purple tomorrow!! 💜💜💜

The chicks are on the loose in 3rd grade! 🐣After patiently waiting 21 days for our eggs to incubate, they are finally hatching! This has been such an exciting, hands-on way for our students to learn all about the chicken life cycle.Tomorrow, our 3rd graders will be taking their chicks around the school to visit other classrooms and share everything they’ve learned. We’re so proud of their knowledge and can’t wait for them to teach others! 💛
This week in 3rd grade, we’re diving into the world of fishing! 🎣Students are learning all about lures and what they mimic. We took a trip to the creek to explore the macroinvertebrates living in our local waters and discovered that these tiny insects are exactly what many fishing lures are designed to imitate!Today, we connected our outdoor education across the curriculum—bringing fishing into math, science, literacy, and even our camp classes. Hands-on learning at its best!It was a great day to be in 3rd grade!
