Things were glowing and bubbling in the Mad Lab today! Third grade scientists explored reactions by making Glow Up Balloons with vinegar and baking soda, then created their own lava lamps with Alka-Seltzer tabs. We’re making science shine bright at East Pointe! 💛🧡❤️💚

Today we had some special visitors!
Corporal Haddock (our School Resource Officer), Sergeant Cowan, and K-9 Officer Tyson from the Greenwood Police Department stopped by to talk with our students about staying safe and healthy, making good choices, and Halloween safety while trick-or-treating. They also gave an exciting demonstration of what it’s like to work as a police officer and K-9 handler! 🐾🚓🎃

Congratulations to our October Staff Member of the Month!! Nurse Michele Carter 🩷

Mrs. Scantling’s class loved having Mrs. Allisyn Stratton from the U of A Sebastian County Extension office come out and read Pumpkin Jack to our class while talking about the scientific aspects of the pumpkin life cycle. Students will make daily observations and journal monthly about the process of our class “Pumpkin Jack.” Mrs. Stratton will return in the spring to discuss our observations and extend our knowledge with the next step of our project (planting flowers and learning about seed life cycles).” We are thankful for community partnerships that allow these classroom opportunities!
