The Greenwood Education Foundation is proud to induct three new members into the GEF Hall of Honor: Gail (Brown) Martin Gilmore, Aaron Gamble, and Rick Jones. All three are known within the Greenwood School District, the Greenwood community and the state as outstanding individuals, citizens and contributors to the culture and quality of Greenwood Schools. A school and community-wide reception honoring these three inductees will be held Friday, September 23 in the GHS Student Union beginning at 5:00 with the induction ceremony at 6:45 (Homecoming pre-game)

Greenwood School District new administrative positions for 2022-23 East Hills Middle School - Mrs. Jamie Barnes Mrs. Barnes was promoted to the Building Principal role after serving the past two years as Assistant Principal. Mrs. Barnes has a total of 24 years in education where she has served as an elementary teacher, a reading interventionist, and a literacy facilitator. East Hills Middle School - Mrs. Amanda Kitchens Mrs. Kitchens was promoted to the Assistant Principal position at East Hills after serving as a Literacy teacher, special education teacher, Dyslexia specialist, and Instructional Facilitator at East Hills for the past 6 years. Westwood Elementary School - Mr. Mark Shumate Mr. Shumate will combine his work as the Director of Bulldog Online Services and District Testing Coordinator with a new role as Assistant Principal at Westwood Elementary School. Mr. Shumate has a total of 22 years in education where he has served as a band director, high school principal, and high school assistant principal.

CELEBRATE 100 YEARS of Greenwood Football Greenwood High School will be celebrating "100 Years of Greenwood Football" during halftime of this year's Homecoming Game, September 23rd. We are collecting old pictures from (1922-1965) of coaches, teams, players, and articles to possibly post on the Website, Jumbotron, and print in the football program and newspaper. So check your grandparents' yearbooks and scrapbooks and email copies of pictures and/or articles to joella.skaggs@greenwoodk12.com Pictures may also be brought to the high school office (501 Bulldog Loop) to be scanned and returned.
