CONGRATULATIONS 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 To Anna Trusty, she is the 2023-24 Gatorade Arkansas Girls Basketball Player of the Year. 🏀🏀 Trusty is the first Gatorade Arkansas Girls Basketball Player of the Year to be chosen from Greenwood High School. The award, celebrates the nation’s top high school athletes for excellence on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. The Gatorade Player of the Year program annually recognizes one winner in the District of Columbia and each of the 50 states that sanction high school sports and awards one National Player of the Year in each sport. The selection process is administered by the Gatorade Player of the Year Selection Committee, which leverages experts including coaches, scouts, media, and others as sources to help evaluate and determine the state winners in each sport. Great things happening at Greenwood Schools! 👏🏻👏🏻 The Greenwood High School Quiz Bowl Team finished second at the 6A West Regional Tournament on Saturday and qualified for the 6A State Tournament. 🌟🌟 Greenwood defeated teams from Greenbrier, Lake Hamilton, and Van Buren. Their only loss was to tournament champion Russellville. Greenwood Senior and Co-captain John Wagner was the tournament’s MVP. He averaged 80 points per game, the highest average of any individual player at the tournament. 👏🏻👏🏻Players include Senior Co-captains Aya Alzufari and Emma Powell, Juniors Jack Oringderff, David Bronson, William Hutcherson, Michael Turner, Sophomore Isaac Buzbee, and Freshman Gabriel Hensley.

QUIZ BOWL --- Congratulations 👏🏻👏🏻 The East Hills 6th Grade Quiz Bowl Team A went undefeated at the Guy Fenter Co-op 6th Grade Tournament and brought home a first-place trophy. 🏆🏆 The winning team consisted of Mason Thompson, Gage Mooney, Ryan Bain, Taylor Bentley, Jackson English, and Brooks Wolfe. Mason Thompson, Gage Mooney, and East Hills B Team member Bailey Cossey were all three named to the all-tournament team after finishing with one of the top ten highest individual average scores. 🌟🌟 The East Hills B team finished in fourth place. Members were Bailey Cossey, Rayne Dean, Nicholas Carbonia, Caden Broman-McAdams, Lucas Parks, and Gabe Nevel. 👏🏻👏🏻
