The Greenwood Education Foundation is proud to announce four new members for the 2023 GEF Hall of Honor. Induction for the honorees will be during the pregame activities of the 2023 Football Homecoming Game on October 20th. A reception honoring the new members will be held in the GHS Student Union at 5:30 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend. Pictured is Cinda Bell, Greenwood Community leader and philanthropist. She is presented flowers to welcome her to the Foundation’s Hall of Honor by GEF Board member, Carolyn Tarver. Stan Escalante faithfully served as Life Coach for Bulldog Athletic Teams and GHS students for sixteen years. His influence will impact our community for future generations. Hortense Stafford taught fourth-grade students at Greenwood Elementary School for over three decades. In August she will celebrate her 102nd birthday and the Foundation proudly welcomes her into the Hall of Honor. Ann and Don Williams touched Greenwood students and residents through multiple roles as they served Greenwood schools and their church. Welcoming Ann into the GEF Hall of Honor is board member Stan Carter.

Greenwood School District families, As a result of the new Arkansas LEARNS Act, school districts are required to make up missed learning in person. This means we will no longer be able to offer AMI (Alternate Method of Instruction) days where students can work virtually from home during inclement weather or any other event that would necessitate the closing of school. As always, the Greenwood School District will place a great priority on providing a safe, high-quality education for every student we serve. Thank you for your support and understanding.
