The Greenwood School District partners with the Greenwood Police Department to protect our students and faculty alike and will strive to create a safe and secure learning environment. School Resource Officers attend training courses, which are conducted by Law Enforcement and Education personnel, and are specifically designed to aid the SRO(s) with the transition into the school environment. Officers learn how to work as a police officer in a school setting, how to work as a resource and problem solver, and how to develop teaching skills necessary to achieve the common goal of educating our youth.
Sgt. Mark Mergen and Inv. Josh Mourton are the School Resource Officers for the 2017-18 school year and have a combined 30 years of service. The SRO's work with students and staff through the school district on a full time basis.
